The Best Sweet Potato Casserole with Canned Yams

Ingredients

  • 40 oz. Bruce's Yams
  • 1/4 c. white sugar
  • 1/4 c. brown sugar
  • 3/4 c. milk
  • 4 oz. real butter melted
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp. cinnamon

Instructions

  • Cook your yams just until boiling. (The other ingredients blend so much better if the sweet potatoes are hot.) Remove from heat. Drain off all the syrup. Move potatoes to a mixing bowl.
  • Mash potatoes with a mixer, you want the texture of these sweet potatoes to be as smooth as you can get them.
  • Add in sugar and spices, melted butter and milk. If you're cutting the sugar or the spice, you'll want to taste test before adding the eggs. Unless you like living dangerously. 🤨
  • Transfer to casserole dish and bake at 400 degrees for 25-30 minutes.
