Welcome to Educating Campbells!
I’m not sure how you found me, but I’m so happy you’re here. If you’re looking for resources to help you become a better homeschool mom, you’ve definitely come to the right place.
A Struggling Homeschool Mom
I’m no stranger to being a struggling homeschool mom. When I started homeschooling my children, I was so overwhelmed that the overwhelm was sometimes paralyzing. I couldn’t keep up with laundry, schooling, appointments, and all of the other things we moms have to do.
I always felt like I was doing everything all wrong.
I’m by no means an expert, but I do have eight and a half years homeschool experience, one homeschool graduate under my belt, and my home is still standing, and even better, it’s functional.
Homeschooling can be a little overwhelming. With trying to balance being the teacher, the mom, the nanny, the housekeeper, the bookkeeper, and the cook, to say that life can get a little hectic is an understatement.
My goal is to help you succeed in homeschooling. Whether you have one child or eleven, I want to help you be more confident in the job you’re doing or want to do.
I love to sing in the shower, drink coffee, and eat chocolate, just not all at the same time. I love to sew, crochet, quilt, write, use chalk pastels, and I’ll even color in a coloring book, on occasion.
I’ve been married to my husband for nearly 14 years and we have a grand total of eight children. Two of those are grown and have lives of their own, one is my stepson, and five live at home with my husband and me. (One is married. We included her husband and his brother in our last good family photo.) My children range in age from 20 on down to three years.
We live on my family’s farm, the farm where I grew up, in the home my grandfather built for my grandmother after they were married. It needs work now and we are working on making improvements just a little bit at a time. We’ll probably finish about the time all the kids move out. (Insert eye roll.)
Living in the country gives us lots of outdoor learning opportunities and we try to take advantage of every one that comes our way.
