Hi! I’m not sure how you found me or the reason you came looking, but I’m glad you’re here.
My name is Melanie, I’m a wife, mother, sister, aunt, daughter, and child of the most high God.
I love to sing in the shower, drink coffee, and eat chocolate, just not all at the same time. I love to sew, crochet, quilt, write, use chalk pastels, and even color in a coloring book.
I’m a homeschool mom of eight.
Two of my children are grown and no longer live with me, one of my children is my bonus kid, and five live at home with my husband and me. They range in age from 19 years on down to 20 months.
We live on my family’s farm, the farm where I grew up, in the home my grandfather built for my grandmother after they were married. It needs work now and we are working on making improvements just a little bit at a time. Some of the improvements we’ve made have been trial and error, some were learned from watching countless YouTube videos and doing an enormous amount of Googling.
I’ve been wanting to start a blog of my own for a long time. I feel like I have something to offer the world. It could just be a word of encouragement, but I do feel everyone has something they can offer, or leave, in the world. This is my effort.
Time is in short supply any way you look at it. We are all only put upon this Earth for a short amount of time and you never know when your time is up. My blog is a dream I have insisted I make time for.
I’ve recently discovered, or come to the realization, that life is not nearly long enough to do all the things. Things we want to do with our children, with our husband, with family, with friends, or just things for ourselves. If you don’t start making time to do things that you may or may not have on your bucket list, they are never going to happen. This is my first step. I hope you will tag along for the ride. There’s sure to be excitement, challenges, happiness, sometimes sadness, but always hope for a better tomorrow. I intend on being very intentional about the happiness part.
Thanks for stopping by!

This month's freebie is an After-Supper Clean Kitchen Checklist. This was designed with kids in mind, actually it was for my kids and I wanted to share it with you. Lol! My boys were so excited to see this freebie. Not really, there were groans, but it's helping my kitchen to get cleaner after supper. 😉 I cook, they clean 'cause that's how we roll 'round here.
